Content Areas Reading Strategies

| Currently I am a literacy coach at Northeastern High School. Over the past 15 years, I have taught middle and high school struggling readers in a variety of settings. My goal as an educator is to make information accessible to all students. I focus most of my attention on teaching students how to interact with text. |
This session will provide specific research-based reading strategies to increase comprehension of content area material. The strategies presented will focus on before, during and after reading text. A smal portion of the session will also focus on vocabulary development. Participants will leave with ready to use ideas for any content.
